Best ever financial results for Bayern Munich

Increasingly looking like the leading European team, Bayern Munich have announced the best ever financial results in their 115-year history.   Turnover is up to £368m, although that still leaves them slightly behind Barcelona and Real Madrid in terms of revenue.

Operating profits are £78m, an excellent result for a football club, although they reduce to £16m after tax. The club's success in merchandising is reflected in revenues of £71m.

The club is no longer entirely fan owned and Allianz are the latest investors.

Turnover

Turnover is actually down by 5 million euros.Merchandising and marketing receded prompting Rummenigge to ask for more money out of the TV pool. The Bundesliga is boring enough without Bayern taking an even greater share of the pool.
