Sheffield-born entrepreneur and venture capitalist Paul Wildes has put himself in the frame.   He has suggested that he would invest £300k with fans finding the other 200k.   However, he has blown hot and cold, in part because Raj Singh has changed his mind about writing off every penny of the money he ‘loaned’ the club.   Fans’ reaction to Wildes has been lukewarm given the problems they have experienced in the past with single owners.

A Yorkshire-based consortium is also in discussions with the administrator but their offer rests on the council lifting covenants on the Northern Echo Arena to establish if they can build a snow dome and other leisure activities on the site.
