"If you want some accessible but informative insight into football then I suggest you couldn't do better than the Political Economy of Football website, which is not only intelligible but comes with the added bonus of being written by Addicks fan Wyn Grant."

Do Leeds fans get value for money?

Leeds have the highest season ticket prices in the Championship, ranging from £462 to £752.  What particularly annoys fans is that they consider that the money has not been reinvested in the team.

Leeds do relatively well on food and drink, however, with the price of a pie and a cup of tea relatively cheap by Championship standards.    However, if the club is taken over, complying with the requirements of Sharia law may have an effect on prices.

Elland Road has a capacity of just under 40,000, but the highest attendance this season has been 24,411 against Blackburn Rovers.   With three home games in a week, including a cup tie against Southampton, this is hardly likely to beaten tonight when Leeds face Championship strugglers Charlton.
