Everton renew shirt sponsorship

Everton has today confirmed an extension to its shirt sponsorship with Chang in a deal that could be worth in excess of £16 million – the most lucrative in the Club’s 136-year history.

The deal, which gets underway at the start of next season, runs for three years until the end of the 2016/17 campaign and remains the longest-running shirt sponsorship in the Barclays Premier League.

However, it is well behind the £30m earned by Arsenal, the £20m earned by their two Merseyside rivals and the two Manchester clubs and the £19m deal secured by Tottenham Hotspur.   It puts them in the same bracket as the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Nevertheless, well-respected manager Roberto Martinez is confident that, despite their relative lack of financial firepower, they could compete in the Champions League.
