Hearts have slammed fringe players who won’t turn in their contracts to ease the club’s financial position. In a statement the club said that they preferred to take the club’s money ‘while offering very little or nothing in return.’

Hearts claimed that all players would be paid by the end of the month and that the club would remain in the top three clubs in the Scottish Premier League in terms of playing budget next year.   The club rejected suggestions they are financially unstable.   The club is controlled by Ukio Banko Investicine Grupe (UBIG) not Ukio Bankas.   UBIG continue to support the club, albeit at a reduced level.

The club admits that the economic environment has exerted downward pressure on income streams from commercial operations and matchday ticket revenues.
