The chief operating officer at Leeds United, Matt Child, has left the club.   The lifelong fan only took up the role in December and was running the club while owner Massimo Cellino was serving his ban from the Football League.

Neither the club nor Child are making any comment on this surprising development.   He came to the club from the telecommunications industry.   He was involved at the club for several months in an unofficial capacity before taking up the appointment.

Malaysian conglomerate Genting have denied rumours circulating on social media that they have any interest in buying the club.
