The most watched matches were 2.7 million for Liverpool versus Chelsea and just under 2.5 million for United versus Arsenal.   These are not huge figures, given the amount that is paid for broadcast rights, but the point is to use the premium content to attract subscriptions.

The money is currently distributed according to relatively democratic principles, but if it was based just on performance, Liverpool would get an extra £74m and United £70m.
