Duff & Phelps have attracted criticism from a number of quarters during the administration process. It is clear that Rangers fans are unhappy with the performance of the London based firm.  However, administration is an emotionally fraught time for fans whose identities are tied up with the club, particularly so in the case of Rangers.

Indeed, one sometimes wonders why administrators are willing to take on football clubs given the difficulty of finding reliable purchasers and the various interests that have to be satisfied.  They do, of course, receive substantial fees but one wonders if the abuse and possible reputational damage is worth it.
