Rangers have won a court case against a transfer ban imposed on them by the Scottish Football Association (SFA). The ban would have seriously compromised their ability to compete next season.

The grounds for quashing the ban were that it was not within the listed sanctions available to the SFA. More generally, it shows that in their eagerness to punish Rangers the bureaucratic boneheads that run Scottish football have overstepped the mark. However, perhaps they will manage to devise new cruel and unusual punishments.
The matter will now go back to the SFA panel, but the only other sanction practically available to them is to exclude Rangers from the Scottish Cup. Rangers could do with the cash from the competition, but if they excluded them the SFA would be shooting themselves in the foot but then they are competitive at Olympic level in that sport.
It does look as if the club may soon be coming out of administration with the issue of a CVA offer by administrators Duff & Phelps.
