Ricoh deny ‘lock out’ claims

Arena Coventry Limited (ACL), the operators of the Ricoh Arena, have denied claims by Coventry City chief executive Tim Fisher that the Sky Blues have been locked out of the stadium.   They insist that the doors remain wide open for the club and argue that, in any case, statements of this kind should be made by the administrator.

For his part, Mr Fisher argues that the club owes it to its fans to explore alternative venues.  Where these might be remains a matter for speculation and no application for a move of ground has been lodged with the Football League.  However, a ground share with Walsall up the M6 remains a possibility.

There is also a vacant ground that has been used for League 1 football at Nene Park, Irthlingborough. However, the former Rushden & Diamonds ground is some distance from Coventry, although road connections are good.
