Thistle pull through

Partick Thistle went through a difficult financial time last season and directors were forced to step in to provide an additional £100k to see them through the campaign.   Before then, the club almost went to the wall in 1998 before the Save the Jags campaign.   It isn’t easy in the Glasgow football market with the dominance of Celtic and Rangers.

Income continues to fall, but director David Beattie thinks the club is in a better position than it has ever been.    He told the Evening Times, ‘I think we have a sustainable business.  We still struggle week to week, month to month, to make the books balance, but we are getting there.   We have to run the club properly, based on our income streams.’

Beattie is a lifelong Thistle fan who has created and sold a number of companies in the food and drink industry.
