Top six want bigger share of spoils

Overseas broadcasting fees have become increasingly important in the Premier League's revenue stream.  An estimated £3bn of the £8.3bn broadcasting pot now comes from this source.

The top six clubs have been arguing for some time that they should have a bigger share of the spoils giving that it is the leading brands that give the Premier League its overseas profile.   They are going to raise the issue again at the Premier League meeting being held in Harrogate.

However, the move is likely to be resisted by the less established clubs and it is difficult to see the necessary 14 votes being secured to change the rules.
