Torquay United Association Football Club Ltd

The original Torquay United was formed in 1899 playing in the East Devon League. The club then merged with local rivals Ellacombe in 1910 (adopting the name Torquay Town) and moved into a new base at Plainmoor, a ground they shared with Babbacombe FC, and in 1921 these two clubs merged and became a professional team playing in the Southern League.
